Hi friends: pretty cool that the Northern Lights were visible last night: this pic is from the Central Park Reservoir. G’mar chatimah tova to everyone observing Yom Kippur tonight & tomorrow, and happy Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day to everyone!
As always, help me keep this space up-to-date: please send me posts, events, and job openings. [image credit: u/AquamanDoesTri/]
Good Local Posts
John Naglick of Econify wrote about GenerativeTS: A Web-Optimized TypeScript Library they developed for AI Apps. It’s on Github here and seems pretty nifty: a great way to understand the base params and semantics of different LLMs. From looking at the documentation I’m getting a sense that John really likes the Mets, so it’s timely in that regard as well :-).
Mona Khalil’s new book, Effective Data Analysis, is available online: the datasets & exercises are free: the book is available as an eBook and pending full publication.
The MTA is hosting its first-ever Open Data Challenge! Sounds like a lot of fun!

Wild story about the Chrysler Building, which is about to be owned by… Cooper Union?
